Benefits of Hormone Pellet Therapy

Hormone replacement therapy is a treatment that many women and men are turning to as they age. Hormone therapy for both sexes, which has been around since the 1930s, is gaining popularity. More and more people are living longer and with low hormone levels, they are prone to age faster and develop conditions like dementia and chronic diseases.

Hormones play an important role in the regeneration of various vital tissues and organs which in turn improves the quality of life.

Benefit of Hormone

What Is Hormone Pellet Therapy?

Hormone Pellet Therapy uses hormones extracted from natural sources to replicate the body’s normal hormone levels. Implants placed just under the skin, release tiny and regular doses of hormones into the body, maintaining correct and natural levels. Other treatments, such as oral and transdermal therapy, produce high levels of hormones all at once. These levels then drop off just as quickly. The result is like a roller coaster ride for the patient. Extreme mood and energy fluctuations occur. Pellet therapy releases a constant flow of hormones into the body, avoiding those negative effects. Since the hormones used are from a natural source, this method is perfect for patients who don’t want synthetic hormones pumped into their bodies. Hormonal creams are messy and ineffective, and pills cause daily mood swings.

Insertion of the pellet is an in-office procedure. There is very little, if any, pain. The physician applies a local anesthetic and makes a tiny cut in the upper hip area. The actual pellet, which is slightly larger than a grain of rice, is then inserted. There are no stitches, and tape is used to seal the cut. Male Testosterone pellets will last for 5-6 months and Female Hormone pellets last for 3-4 months.

Erectile Dysfunction

Physical intimacy and sexual health are essential for a man’s well-being, not only physically, but psychologically as well. Men can experience extreme feelings of guilt when they’re not satisfying their partner, and erectile dysfunction is one of the key contributors.

Perhaps you’ve decided that this is just what happens with age, but the truth is many factors contribute to ED, including overall physical health, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, elevated stress levels, and “Low T.”

What is Erectile Dysfunction?

Erectile Dysfunction, also known as impotence, is the inability of a man to get or maintain an erection in the penis during sexual intercourse. It can also be considered as the sexual inactiveness that sets in due to health problems.

Occasional ED is common among men, especially when the body is stressed, but this becomes a concern if sexual inactivity or an inability to maintain an erection occurs over a long period of time.

Symptoms of Erectile Dysfunction

Anyone suffering from ED will experience a series of sexual difficulties, which include:

  • Inability to have an erection for sexual intercourse
  • Inability to maintain an erection that is adequate for sexual activity.
  • Reduced sexual desire(libido)
  • Premature ejaculation

Causes of Erectile Dysfunction

  • Vascular
  • Diabetes
  • Medications
  • Surgical/Trauma
  • Neurological
  • Low testosterone levels
  • Stress
  • Sleep disorder
  • Opiates
  • Excess alcohol consumption and smoking
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Age

ED is a very treatable problem that we specialize in. Note that 85% of all cases are summed up in Vascular, Diabetic, and Medication issues that can all be treated by our specialist with tried, tested, and proven methods.

Erectile Dysfunction Treatments :

Acoustic Wave Therapy

Acoustic wave therapy uses energy from acoustic waves to trigger a process called neovascularization in certain parts of the body. When neovascularization occurs, new blood vessels are formed. This helps improve blood flow to the region.

This type of therapy has been used to help heart patients, people with kidney stones, and those with fractures and joint/tendon inflammation. Recently, scientists have investigated low-intensity shockwave therapy to help men with erectile dysfunction (ED).

Blood flow is critical to a man’s erections. When a man is sexually stimulated, arteries widen so that his penis can fill with blood. The blood is what gives the penis the firmness needed for vaginal penetration. A man who has problems with blood flow to the penis may have weaker erections or may be unable to have erections at all.

Acoustic Wave Therapy

Erectile Dysfunction Acoustic Wave Therapy

There are several types of treatments available to men with ED, including pills, vacuum erection devices, and penile injections. However, these therapies are typically conducted on an “as-needed” basis and may work for only one sexual encounter at a time. They can be cumbersome and also have varying side effects. Acoustic wave therapy is different, as it targets the erectile mechanism so that men are more likely to have erections on their own.

To administer shockwave therapy, a doctor applies a probe to the penis which is coated in a special gel. Specific areas of the penis are targeted. Treatment sessions may last for fifteen to twenty minutes. Men usually don’t need anesthesia or experience discomfort, although they might have a tingling sensation in the treated area.

Clinical trials of Acoustic wave therapy for ED have had encouraging results. One study showed a 76% improvement in ED symptoms. The process has been well tolerated by patients. Many men have found that their erections have improved, and they are able to once again engage in intercourse without pills, injections or vacuums. Men with more severe ED may still need to take ED medication in addition to having Acoustic wave therapy but experienced much better results and often take less medication after the treatment sessions.

Acoustic Wave

Safe & Effective!

What to expect during your Acoustic wave treatment:

After a thorough consultation and physical examination, the provider will determine if you are an appropriate candidate for the procedure.

Acoustic wave therapy normally consists of 6 treatment sessions that are scheduled either twice a week for 3 weeks or once a week for 6 weeks. Therapy can be customized to each specific patient’s desire or need.

Each session will consist of the option of a topical numbing medicine that is applied directly onto the penis. Most men do not opt for numbing medicine because there really is no discomfort.

Once you are comfortably positioned, the machine handle will be set to 2.5-3.0 BAR intensity, a frequency of 10 acoustic waves/second and each of the 5 separate locations on the penis and perineal area will receive 3,000 pulses.

In all, 5 locations are treated which will essentially involve the entire shaft of the penis and the perineal area.

Once the treatment is concluded, the patient has zero downtime from any activities. Even engaging in sexual intercourse is encouraged any time the patient desires.

Why do People get Sexual Function Problems?

For both men and women, changes in sexual function can have a very significant impact on one’s own self-esteem and that of one partner’s as well. Difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection and/or concerns about the penile size, shape, and curvature, with or without pain commonly happens to men as they age. Decreased sexual pleasure for a woman can stem from poor lubrication, pain with intercourse, the vaginal canal being too loose (less sensation) or too tight (discomfort), and difficulty or inability in achieving an orgasm. With increasing age, the blood vessels to, and within the sexual organs (penis and vagina), can collapse or break down resulting in dysfunction.

What is Low Intensity Shockwave Therapy (LIST)?

Our bodies have a remarkable capacity to heal themselves. Regeneration of new tissue is accomplished by the natural production of stem cells. Low-Intensity Shockwave Therapy (LiST) delivers pulse waves to the penis or vagina and stimulates activation of the body’s cellular repair mechanisms, similar to that with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections. This results in the opening of existing blood vessels and the growth of new ones as well. It additionally stimulates cellular tissue repair resulting in better improved, or even normalized, sexual function. The liST was originally used to treat sports injuries and plantar fasciitis but now has evolved to address issues of sexual wellness and dysfunction. The liST is one of the most advanced, effective natural treatments for cellular repair AND rejuvenation throughout the body. Trademarked names for Shockwave Therapy include GainswaveTM, CorewaveTM, RejuvawaveTM, and SwisswaveTM. All of these use the same type of pressure wave technology.

What Benefits can a Man have from Shockwave Therapy?

  • Stronger, firmer erections
  • Increased sensitivity in the penis
  • Easier to achieve and maintain erections (i.e., improved sexual stamina)
  • Increased penile length and girth
  • Greater self-esteem
  • Improvement in or the resolution of penile curvature & pain from Peyronie’s Disease
  • Resolution of penile pain with erection
  • Better overall blood flow to the penis

What Benefits can a Woman have from Shockwave Therapy?

  • Decreased or completely resolved pain during sex (known as dyspareunia)
  • Increased ability to have vaginal orgasms
  • Stronger and more frequent orgasms
  • Greater arousal from clitoral stimulation
  • Increased vaginal lubrication
  • A tighter vaginal canal (if felt to be too loose prior)
  • A more elastic vaginal canal (if felt to be too tight prior, usually after menopause)
  • Younger, smoother skin externally (lips of the vagina)
  • Decreased or resolved overactive bladder and/or urinary incontinence

How does Shockwave Therapy work?

Shockwave therapy (LiST) falls under the field of regenerative medicine, which deals with the process of replacing, engineering or regenerating human cells, tissues or organs to restore or establish normal function. It is a non-invasive treatment which stimulates tissue repair and cellular regeneration. LiST results in recruitment of platelets and the subsequent release of growth factors & proteins which in turn activate stems cells and stimulate cellular repair and regeneration wherever they are applied in the body. In addition, collagen production and the formation of new blood vessels occurs and further aids in tissue repair.

How does Shockwave Therapy (LIST) differ from PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a therapy that involves the injection of a person’s own growth factors to stimulate tissue healing. (click here to learn more) Both PRP and LiST work by similar means, but LiST takes the process back one step and stimulates platelet activation as opposed to extracting platelets from one’s blood and injecting them directly where the cellular repair is needed.

Can Shockwave Therapy and PRP be used Together?

No one treatment type is optimal for every patient, thus, PRP is also often used in conjunction with LiST in patients who may benefit from both as they have a known additive effect. Ask us if you are a candidate for PRP as well as LiST.

How long does the LIST take to Perform?

LiST is an in-office procedure that usually takes under 30 minutes. There is no recovery period or major restrictions and all patients may resume their usual activities soon after on the same day.

Is there anything else that I will need to do after the LIST?

Though the treatment does not require any special aftercare, for men looking to achieve optimal results, we strongly encourage the use of a Vacuum Erection Device (VED) in the weeks following LiST. This is usually done twice daily. It requires only a few minutes of your time and without it, success rates are usually lower. We will walk you through it the first time.

For women after LiST, using an Apex M or Intensity pelvic floor muscle stimulation device is vital for achieving optimal success from the procedure. This is also done twice daily.

When may I resume Sexual Activity after the Shockwave Therapy?

You may resume sexual activity about 4 hours after procedure on the same day.

What are the Potential Side Effects of the LIST?

Only minor potential side effects may occur. These include minor bleeding or bruising, swelling, and very rarely infection. You MUST notify your doctor if you are taking aspirin, Coumadin, Xarelto, Plavix or any other blood thinners as these must be held prior to treatment.

+ Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Shot (Priapism Shot)

PRF involves concentrated platelets, rich in bioactive proteins, which release growth factors to stimulate cellular regeneration, attract own stem cells and accelerate tissue repair. The benefits of PRP were initially used in wound healing, dentistry, and the treatment of sports injuries, but now have evolved to address aesthetic concerns and sexual dysfunction (erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s Disease for men). PRP is one of the most advanced, effective natural treatments for cellular repair AND rejuvenation throughout the body.

Where Did the Name P-Shot® Come From?

The name P-Shot® is actually a shortened version of the Priapus Shot®. It was coined by Dr. Charles Runels after he first injected his own penis. He felt that Priapus, the Greek god of male regenerative power, perfectly represented what he was trying to achieve.

What Benefits Can a Man Have from the P-Shot®? Stronger, firmer erections

Easier to achieve and maintain erections (i.e., improved sexual stamina)

Increased penile length sensitivity, feeling and girth

Improvement in or resolution of penile curvature from Peyronie’s Disease

Resolution of penile pain with erection

Increased sensitivity in the penis with

Better overall blood flow to the penis
